St. Pio Prayer Requests Received Before April, 2008

Please ask St. Pio of Pietrelcina (Padre Pio) to intercede for the following people. Each week new prayer requests will be sent to Sacred Heart Church in East Berlin, Connecticut, USA, where they will be placed on the altar during each mass throughout the week.

Dear Padre Pio
My 8 week old neice has bronchilitis and a collapsed lung she is very ill. Please perform a miracle and help her to recover immediately. I am afraid she is going to die, I already lost a nephew 13 years ago, he died within 1 day of birth and we as a family could not come through this again. Please please through your intercession help her.

I am asking for a healing for my 66-year-old brother, Father David Maher, SCJ, who is in the last stages of Acute Leukemia, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Dave is a missionary priest who served over 30 years in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He even came back to the U.S .in 2004 to have his hips replaced so that he could return and work in the Congo. On December 9th, 2007, he returned to the States with what he thought was a severe case of maleria and other problems. He was diagnosed on 12/19/07 with the Acute Leukemia (AML).
He went through one round of a severe chemotherapy treatment, after which he caught a fungal infection that attacked his brain and lungs. They tried a new fungal medication and the doctor said that they literally snatched him from death's door. They did a bone marrow biopsy on 1/31/08, and the doctor said that there were still a lot of the leukemia cells remaining, and they did not think my brother would survive another round of the intense chemotherapy. Instead, they have offered him a treatment of a very mild chemo which was administered over a five-day period and which would only give him a little more time. This past weekend they gave him an IV with the antifungal medicine and two transfusions of blood platlets, and he will be released with a home health aide the latter part of this week.
When I asked the doctor what Dave's feelings were about all this, he said that he did not know how much of this Dave was processing because he kept using the "M" word. When I asked what the "M" word was, I was told that it was the word "miracle!"
I guess I'm hoping for a miracle as well, and am requesting prayers for a healing for my brother.

Please take pity on my family and send us your help. My son turned 6 on the 12th of february 2008, unfortunately this was not a day of joy for us as he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The results showed that he has a very aggressive type of brain cancer. Please please all who read this pray for my son Jack. Please ask Saint Pio to take this horrible cancer from him. And help him to heal. He is only a baby. I ask this in the name of our Holy Father. Thank you

Dear Padre Pio,
I'm 30 years old and I've been very sick for the past 4 years with an invisible illness known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. The doctors are puzzled by my condition and they don't know how to help me. It's been so bad that I've lost nearly everything that's precious to me in the world. I'm so weak and sick that I can't live my life anymore...I'm trapped inside the house just struggling to get by. I cannot work, be with friends, or do all the things I used to love to do...nothing. On top of that, the illness is poisoning my mind and thoughts...I'm starting to lose faith in everything including myself and I feel like my life is worthless. I ask you to please pray for me, Padre Pio, that I might be well again. Please give me the strength to continue onward and be brave. Give me the faith to defeat this illness and allow me to once again become an instrument of God's love. I pray to you that the almighty Jesus Christ have mercy on my soul and make me well again.

My daughter in law , was the angel who came into my life at a very difficult time. She and my son married seven years ago. Three months ago while working, she became blind in one eye. It just took a few moments and her eye was gone. A few days latter she awoke, and the other eye was loosing vision. Please, Please, Pray for her. The doctors do not know what is wrong, we have know leads as to what to do. I am praying for a miracle. I also need your prayers.

Alice and Nemy – please pray for a partner in life, whose love for us is out-matched only by His love for God. A man who will cherish us and build up. A man who is a good father and provider. A man who will be attracted to physically, emotionally, and spiritually. A man who will love us as Christ loved the Church. My brother, Father Dave, is a missionary priest who has worked in the Democratic Republic of the Congo for 30 years. He is now in a hospital in Milwaukee and has just been diagnosed with acute leukemia and has undergone one chemotherapy session, after which he developed a fungal infection of the lungs and the brain. They are trying to treat the fungal infection, and will be taking a bone marrow biopsy to see whether to continue with the chemotherapy. My poor brother wants to live. Please pray for his recovery and for him.

My name is Maria Therese. I am scared. I have a special devotion to the Blessed Mother, the Holy Family, and the Rosary. I'm 41 and newly married and I have an ovarian cyst. I will be having surgery on Feb. 12. My husband and I are praying for a miracle - that the cyst will shrink and disapear and we will be blessed with a baby. If they have to operate, please pray that the cyst is benign and all they have to do is drain the cyst. Please pray they do not need to remove the ovary. Thank you so much!

I'm in desperate need of changes in my life. Last year was the worst year of my life. I am struggling with thoughts of suicide. This is the work of Satan. I know prayer is a power tool that Jesus has given us to make changes as he has said ask and it will be given unto you. My 11 year old son, Thien Pham was just diagnosed with stage 3 T-cell lymphoma cancer a few days ago. My son has been sick since he was 2.5 year old. At the age of six, he was finally diagnosed correctly with chronic active Epstein-Barr virus and had undergone a bone marrow transplant 4.5 year ago. Now his enlarged lymph nodes had changed into cancer tumors. My son is having chemo therapy as the doctors are repairing for a 2nd bone marrow transplant. He does not have a perfect match donor. I had told my son about Padre Pio and we often pray for St. Pio's intercession to cure this little sick boy who has been suffered so much in the past 9 years with this rare cancer. He is the only known case of an identical twin carrying T-cell infected Epstein-Barr virus which has transformed into lymphoma cancer. Father Pio of Pietrelcina, please pray for my son full recovery. I need prayers for myself, Denise. I have an appt. with a cardiologist Nov. 15th. I need prayers that my condition is not serious and no invasive procedures will be necessary. When taking a recent heart stress test, it was found to show "partial reversible inferior posterior defects". I'm not even sure exactly what that is, but my family Dr. wants me to follow up with a cardiologist. He later said that it isn't that serious, so please pray that proves out to be true.

1 - Salvatore - who is recovering from hip surgery and a recurring gall stone condition. His gall stone condition has worsened and there could be an operation. He is 80 years old and we pray that the gall stone wills can be lasered instead of operated (cut).
2 - Jimmy - mid 40's - has progressive multiple sclerosis and his condition now is that needs to find someone that can be his companion as well as his caregiver in his home. Jimmy is recovering from burns that he suffered this summer while making soup. We pray that he will find a caregiver and that his MS condition does not worsen.

He feels strange at first and then has very vile thoughts and becomes vile. He has no control over it and does not know what to do. He believes it may be his mother. She was very manipulative when she was alive and isolated him as a child. He suffers many bonding problems with his family and he has no friends. He is scared because his mind basically becomes blank and he feels he is losing himself. Please pray that whatever possesses him will be commanded out of him by Jesus, the Lord. Please, please pray for my husband. I am very afraid for him.

It has long since been my cross that I have not been blessed with the role as wife and mother. Recently, I have begun to reconsider (now for the third time) that the Lord's will for me is for him to be my bridegroom and for me to be the mother of many through Our Mother Church. This was the original vocation I believed to have been called as a young girl growing up; however, as an early teen I had a terrible experience that diverted my spiritual path. Then in my early twenties I found myself questioning a Sister friend of mine about the process of entering the order of IHM. I was in the midst of my undergraduate studies and fell short of confidence that I could be chosen for such a blessed call after the terrible path my life had taken me. Now, I sit here again, old and into my early thirties and I so frequently find myself acknowledging the empty place in my soul that I have turned away from so many times before. The pain from the absence of motherhood hovers about always but I have begun to see the opportunity to "mother the many poor souls in purgatory" that are unable, just as infants, to do anything for themselves. Today I heard a radio program discussing how you had given solid guidance to a priest's mother in her youth about available suitors whom she could take for a husband. I come to you today, as I have the faith in you now that she had in you then for you to aid me in the direction of the spouse most suitable for me. Do I continue living my life as a single? Do I continue to pray that the Lord will bring a good soul to me and build a strong catholic family in the Name of the Lord? Do I seek the cloistered lifestyle of the Carmellites? Last Wednesday, my grandaughter’s who is 2 ½ month old suffered a serious fall resulting in head injuries and severe brain damage. She was flown to Children's Hospital and has been there since. A friend gave me a book about St Padre Pio's life the night before we went on holidays.
When I finished reading it in the privacy of my bedroom. As soon as I got up off the bed to go downstairs (we were on holiday) I just started to leave the room and all of a sudden I got this strong perfume smell of "ROSES"!
I stopped in my 'tracks' for a few moments, then went out to the landing and my daughter's future husband (please God) came out of his bedroom. This was afternoon time. So I asked him could he smell "ROSES" he immediately said "Yes, I can smell them here and he went into the bathroom and said "the smell is also in here"! So I said to him, "can you please walk into our bedroom (my husband and I had an ensuite). His reply was the smell of Roses is even stronger in here"!
So I asked him to go downstairs and ask my daughters had they sprayed 'Rose/Musk perfume or deodorant'. He immediately came back upstairs and said that none of the girls had sprayed any perfume or deodorant.
So I explained to him that I had just finished reading St Padre Pio's life story and in the book it stated that St Pio can send you a perfume to let you know that he has heard your prayers. My future Son-in-law said to me "Oh I have heard my Mum and Granny talk about this"!
My husband has Cancer in his right lung. His brain scan was clear also was the bone scan (he also has diabetes grade 2) but we were told that the Tumour was 'active' nothing they can do only offer him another 4 treatments of Chemo, not to cure but to give him more time on this earth. (He already had Chemo plus Radiotherapy, the Consultant told him, to make a decision and come back the following week). We went back and my husband told the Consultant that he would 'rather be on his feet than spend his last months in bed'! My husband is a very Brave Man in my 'eyes' and also our 6 childrens 'eyes' we also have 8 grandchildren from the age of 10 to 10 months. Our first grand child we have not seen in 6 years, another grandchild we have never seen!
Thus the reason for this "last family holiday with their Daddy and Granda Jim. He is the only Grandfather left for 6 of my grandchildren.
But my FAITH is so strong and I will not give up, even though it is breaking my heart to watch my husband lose all this weight but he never complains. On Tuesday 14 August he will be 61 and we are all 'celebrating his birthday, and he is looking forward to it!'
On Wednesday 15 August the "Feast of our LADY'S ASSUMPTION (we got engaged that day 40 years ago, we will be 39 years married on 24 September 2007) however on Our Lady's Feast Day, Jim is going to get blessed by St Padre Pio's Mitt. A Gentleman named Michael Murray, who lives locally to us a ten minutes drive away. Has St Padre Pio's MITT. His family have had 'this Mitt for years'! They bring it to the hospital/peoples homes etc.
So finally can I ask you to pray that my Husband Jim will be cured. He is a true CHRISTIAN, a Follower of Christ helps everyone and always keeps 'People's Confidence to himself'!

I am praying to you to please help heal my Grandson who is having surgery this Wednesday on his acid reflex and tubes in his ears. He was born with the Myelin Sheath missing on the ends of his nerves in his brain. They are hoping that the tubes in his ears will help him hear and talk. He has terrible pain and constipation everyday. He has a balance problem. He can not walk and has a hard time sitting. Please help pray for my 28 year old son. He had a backache for 4 months and after many doctor appointments they found him to have testicular Cancer he has a mass around his kidney, liver and lungs. He has been going threw Chemo and after the second round of chemo he had a anaphylaxis reaction and we almost lost him. Now he has to have 3 major surgeries to remove all this terrible cancer. Before all this bad news he got engaged to a wonderful girl and they are planning their wedding, which now is postponed for 6 months. He is a volunteer fire fighter in Port Washington and saves people lives. He had got many awards for making the most fires in his company. He also is a EMT and goes on ambulance calls, from cutting people out of cars that were in accidents to common little things, he is still out there helping other people. He now needs prayers to help save him. This is my only child and it took me 7 years to have him. Only a parent will understand how my husband and I are feeling. We don't sleep with the worry with how the surgery is going to go. Please help me pray for him.

i am writting in reguards to my health, i ahve been in the hospita for a prolaps i have suffered, i need surgery and have no insurance nor do i have any money, i am gonna be out of work for at least 3 months and have no funds coming in at all, i am beside myself and truly need the help of padre pia, may his prayers bring me some releif and help to guide me down the right road to solve this prob....also my older brother is dieing from cancer and needs all the prayers that we can offer.....thank you and may god bless
